Women's Image Network announces its
19th Women's Image Awards Film and Television Nominees

November 10, 2017 (Los Angeles) Women's Image Network, (WIN) announces its film and television nominations for The Women's Image Awards.

Now in year 19, Women's Image Network (WIN) produces The Women's Image Awards to advance gender parity by honoring women and men who create dimensional female media images. For the first time since its 1993 launch, WIN has added a new category, Foreign Language Film, to show how the issue of women's equality is being tackled by talented international filmmakers. The award finalists will be announced in Los Angeles at The Women's Image Awards ceremony, Tuesday, February 6th, 2018.

Since The Women's Image Awards serve a dual purpose to honor deserving film and television work and to promote equality a WIN nominees provided responses to their Women's Image Award nomination. Here are a few nominee responses:

"It's an honor to be recognized by the Women's Image Awards, both personally and on behalf of our film. NOVITIATE is a story about women and told by women; so it is particularly touching and meaningful for us, to be recognized by an organization that has done so much for the advancement of women." Maggie Betts, Writer/Director of NOVITIATE

Muchas gracias for Queen of the South's two nominations!  And thank you WIN, Fox 21, UCP and USA Network for supporting our series, and for helping to advance women and Latinas in the media.  No matter who wins the award, we are all QueensNatalie Chaidez, Executive Producer, Queen of the South

"I am thrilled to be a part of this nomination for Mansfield 66/67.  Having worked so hard as a team to bring to life this woman who represented such a transitional moment in women's modern history was a real privilege.  Therefore it is very gratifying to have that work recognized as being relevant to the image and value of women everywhere.  Thank you to Women's Image Network for continuing to support our value in front of and behind the camera" Larra Anderson, Producer, Mansfield 66/67

"We are so honored to receive this recognition from The Women's Image Network for our show Playing House. We feel very passionate about telling stories about the amazing ways in which women support women every day. But this season was extra special because we dealt with such a personal story, so to have it acknowledged by WIN means the world to us. Thank YOU for all you do. Let's keep telling stories that resonate of love." - Lennon Parham & Jessica St. Clair

"We are so thrilled to be nominated for BEST FOREIGN FILM at the Women's Image Awards. Our film tells the story of how one courageous woman can spark a fire and bring a political and social process into motion and it could not be more timely. It's a film made by many women behind the camera, with many women in front of the camera and we want more of these kinds of films!" - Petra Volpe, Writer / Director The Divine Order
